Shennong Stream


Shennong Stream, 神农溪 in Chinese, is a tributary of the Yangtze River between Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge among the well-known Three Gorges. With its length of 60 km, Shennong Stream, originated from Shennongjia Mountains, runs through the mountains and cliffs, and then joins the Yangtze River in Badong County, Hubei Province.

Shennong Stream consists of three sections with their own features, namely, Mianzhu Gorge, Parrot Gorge, Longchang Cave Gorge. It is famous for the riverbanks scenrary when you sail on the Three Gorges. The narrowest part is only seven meters in width. The excursion tour to Shennong Stream on some boat is possible

The Hanging Coffins above the Shennong Stream from ancient time is one of the mysterious here. We have no clear idea about where and why the hanging coffins are here. The water in the Shennong Stream is absolute clear that is not any polluted, and the fish or stones in the river can be seen easily.
