Shuhe Old Town in Lijiang


Shuhe Old Town is a well-preserved town along the ancient tea-horse route and one of the earliest settlements of Naxi people's ancestors near Lijiang, Yuannan Province in the Southeastern China. Shuhe was built along the mountainside and faces the river. Rivers, channels and roads make a dense web and link the town in a tight structure just like a honeycomb. People use stones in the nearby mountains to make the walls of their houses.
