Amazing Northern Xinjiang 8-Day Tour: Urumqi, Tianchi, Hemu, Kanas, Ghost City, Dushanzi Canyon

Welcome to Urumqi, the capital city of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region in China. Upon arrival Urumqi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your free time to explore.

It is a long day today to drive nearly 500km. Firstly you will take one-hour car ride to Heavenly Lake or Tianchi in Chinese, then visit the impressive high-mountain lake in Tianshan Mountains.

Afterwards you will take 6-hour car ride through the Gurbantunggut Desert, the second biggest desert in China. Later, check in the hotel in Fuyun town. Please note this is a small town, and the hotel is very basic.

Today you will take 7-hour car ride for 400km to Hemu Village, which is a small Tuwa village located in the valley of the Altai Mountains. The village looks like a wooden world from the top of the village.

Enjoy the morning views in the Hemu Village, then head to Kanas Lake for 1.5 hours by sightseeing bus. This is a big area, you will take sightseeing bus to different parts including Kanas Lake, Crescent Moon Bay, Sleeping Dragon Bay(Wolong Bay), and Shengxian Bay, Guanyu Pavilion etc.

Later, you will check in the hotel at Jiadengyu. 

Today you will drive 2.5 hours back to Buerjin County, where you will visit the colorful Multi-colored River Beach near the town. There are various clays with different colours beside the Ertix River, which is nice to take photos here.

Today you will take 5-hour car ride for 455km, and visit Karamay Urho Ghost City on the way, which is a yardan landscape with different clay formations, and it is very impressive to view such big area.

After breakfast, you will drive one hour to Dushanzi Grand Canyon in the Tianshan mountains. The huge canyon is stunning to view.

Afterwards, you will take 4-hour car ride for 280km back to Urumqi.

Today you will depart from Urumqi. You will be transferred to Urumqi airport to catch your flight, where the wonderful tour concludes.
