Yamdrok-tso


Yamdrok Lake, also known as Yamdrok-tso, is one of three sacred lakes in Tibet. Yamdrok Tso is a freshwater lake and famous for its incredible turquoise color. It stretches over 72 km in length, with the lowest point around 60 meters in depth. The lake is at an altitude of about 4,600 meters and is surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

Situated about 70 km south of Lhasa, the lake created the picturesque landscape in the sunny days. It takes about 2.5 hours car ride from Tibet to the Kambala Pass, which is located at an altitude of 4,990 meters, offering the unparalleled views over Yamdrok Lake.
