Southern China Explore to HK 12D: Shanghai to Zhangjiajie, Yangshuo and Hong Kong

Welcome to Shanghai, the most metropolis of China! Upon arrival, you'll be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel. The rest of today is at your leisure.

City explore in Shanghai today with a local guide, you will visit the Bund that is riverfront of the Huangpu River, Yu Garden that is an old pretty garden, Xintiandi that is former French Colony, and Jade Buddha Temple etc. Note we will arrange to visit City God Temple instead of Yu Garden that is closed on Mondays. 

Today you will fly from Shanghai to Zhangjiajie. The flight information will be sent to you before the tour. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel by your local guide. Zhangjiajie is a renowned town for its spectacular national park. If it is early flight, you will head to visit Tianmen Mount today instead of the visit on the following day.

Today, you will be transferred (approximately 1 hour) to Zhangjiajie National Park. The adventure begins with a breathtaking ascent on the glass-walled Bailong Elevator, which swiftly transports you to the Yuanjiajie summit for unparalleled cliffside views. Here, you will encounter the monumental "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain," the soaring pillar-like landscape that inspired James Cameron’s blockbuster film.

In the afternoon, continue to Tianzi Mountain, celebrated as the "Monarch of the Peak Forest." This scenic area offers spectacular panoramic vistas and is famed for its four natural wonders—most notably the ever-shifting Sea of Clouds.

Your tour concludes with a visit to the picturesque Ten-Mile Gallery, a tranquil valley adorned with stunning rock formations. For a relaxed yet immersive experience, you will enjoy a one-way ride on the electric sightseeing train.

Take a car from Zhangjiajie to Furong Town (approx. 83 km, 2 hours by road). Furong Town, also known as the "Thousand-Year-Old Town Hanging on a Waterfall," has over 2,000 years of history and is home to the Tujia and Miao ethnic minorities. The waterfall view is especially stunning in the evening when it is beautifully lit up. Overnight in Furong Town.

Take a car or train from Furong Town to Fenghuang Ancient Town (approx. 140 km, 2-2.5 hours). Built along the Tuojiang River, Fenghuang is a 2,000-year-old town famous for its well-preserved Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. It is also home to the Miao and Tujia ethnic minorities. 

Today you will take 2-hour car ride to Mt Fanjing that was inscribed on the heritage list by UNESCO in 2018, you will take a cable car up and continue walking to visit. The well-known attractions include Golden Summit with red clouds, Yuejing Mountain, Sleeping Buddha, Mushroom Stone, Jiulong Pond, Layers of Mountains, Phoenix Mountain, etc.

Afterwards you will be transferred back to Fenghuang hotel. 

Today you will take 4-hour car ride to Longji in Guilin, which is a wonderful place to view the rice terraces. 

You will stay overnight in the local inn in Dazhai or PiangAn Village, where the fabulous rice paddies are impressive.

Today you will take 3-hour car ride from Longji to Yangshuo, a small nice town nestled in the Karst mountains area. Enjoy the boat tour this afternoon along the pretty Li River that is well-known for its picturesque scenery. 

It is a nice experience to ride bike to the countryside of Yangshuo, view the picturesque Yulong River. 

Then you will climb up the Mount Xianggong that is a nice spot to have a bird view of Li River. 

Afterwards, you will move to a tea plantation where you can learn how to make tea leaves.  

Later, you will be tansferred back to Yangshuo and enjoy yout free time.

Today you will be transferred to Guilin Railway Station to catch the 4-hour bullet train to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, you will be transferred by local representative to hotel and check in the hotel with your passport. Enjoy your free time. 

Tour concludes in Hong Kong today, you can depart anytime to airport at your own cost. Note: Hotel check out time is at noon.
